What does it mean to be a man or a woman? Even a supreme court nominee can't provide a definition for the word woman. I never questioned what it meant to be a man or a woman for most of my life, then friends of ours decided to open their marriage. And that's when it all began for me.
I'd heard the term LGBTQ, but never thought much about it. I was a heterosexual man with a wife, and I was attracted to women. I never questioned my sexuality, but all that was about to change.
Sexuality, gender, orientation, all of that seemed fixed to me. You are attracted to women, or you like men, and I had no idea that could change with time or situations. In a very short amount of time, I learned more about myself and other people sexually than I ever thought I could or would.
At times, we all question ourselves, but nothing affects us more than our sexual desires. And when our sexual desires don't make sense to us, that can be concerning. What do you do when your sexual attraction and sexual desires contradict one another?
Depression is so prevalent in our culture, and more and more people are questioning who they are and where they fit in. Where do you fit in when you don't know who you are or what you want in your life? And what community is YOUR community?
